Earthquake strikes 200km west of Broome


An earthquake has struck off the coast of Western Australia.

Seismologists confirmed the 5.1-magnitude quake happened just before 3pm local time, about 205km west of the city of Broome.

While it happened 10km below sea level in the Indian Ocean, there are no tsunami warnings in place for any surrounding land regions.
