Britney Spears court statement: Britney says her dad forced birth control and had her heavily medicated so she would perform
Among several wild revelations in Britney Spears’ blistering court statement, the popstar says her father had her forcibly medicated her and won’t let her get pregnant.
In a heartbreaking court address today, Britney Spears says all she wants is to marry her boyfriend Sam Asghari and have more children, but her father’s tight grip over her life via a 13-year conservatorship is inhibiting her from taking control.
The successful popstar, who is worth an estimated $60 million, has spoken in court for the first time in years to formally request the end of the strict arrangement usually reserved for the elderly or severely mentally ill, delivering an explosive testimony about years of “abuse”, which she likened to “sex trafficking”.
Among several bombshells, Britney has made alarming allegations regarding her father’s control over her body.
Appearing via audiolink, Britney alleged her father forced her to implant an IUD birth control device in her body and has actively prevented her from having it removed by a doctor. He also allegedly had her heavily medicated so she would continue performing.
Appearing via audiolink, Britney said her father forced her to implant an IUD birth control device in her body and has actively prevented her from having it removed by a doctor.
“I have an IUD in my body right now that won’t let me have a baby and my conservators won’t let me go to the doctor to take it out,” she said.
Britney is already mother to Sean Preston, 15, and 14-year-old Jayden Federline with ex-husband Kevin Federline, who she split from in 2006.
She has been with her current partner Sam Asghari since 2016.
Elsewhere in her address, Britney said she was “forced” to do her famed Vegas residency while heavily medicated on Lithium, which had a frightening effect on her.
“The same lady has been giving me my medication for 8 years … I was out on lithium. They took me off my same drugs for 5 years and put me on lithium … it is a strong drug … it was like I was drunk.”
According to TMZ, Britney said she wanted to put an end to her four-year residency in Las Vegas but was threatened by her conservators. They went on to change her medication without her knowledge, the effects of which left her “scared”. She said her family did nothing.
The publication also reported she had spoken to her therapist about wanting to end her residency and focus on her health, but was told she was being “difficult” and accused of not taking her meds, which led to them being changed.
In a further bombshell, the website wrote that Britney’s caretakers to the conservatorship would violate her privacy and watch her change while she was naked.
“I want changes. I want changes going forward, and I deserve changes,” she told the court today.
“It’s my wish and dream for all of this to end.”
She went on: “In California, the only similar thing to this is called sex trafficking, making anyone work against their will, taking all their possessions away credit card, cash, phone, passport.
“I’m talking to you today because yes, even Jodi is starting to take it too far.” (Jodi Montgomery is Britney’s ‘care manager’).
It comes after Britney’s court-appointed lawyer, Samuel D Ingham III, said she wanted to address the court directly and filed a request which was granted by Judge Brenda Penny at the Los Angeles County Court.
