Bhilwara: A sensational case of rape of a young woman living in Subhash Nagar police station of Bhilwara city of Rajasthan came to light when her virginity test was done under a malafide practice spread in the society. This girl from Sansi society was raped by a young man living in her neighborhood. Threatened her that if she would tell anyone about the incident, her siblings would be killed with a knife.
The victim did not tell anything to anyone under pressure, but a few days after the incident, after the marriage of that girl, the girl was found guilty under the prevalent cooking practices in the society. When the family members of the victim asked, he told about the incident that happened to him. After this, the family members have filed a case against the accused.
In fact, in Rajasthan, the practice of kukdi practice of Sansi society has been going on for a long time. After marriage, there is a ritual between husband and wife, which is called Kukdi.
This is such a bad practice, in which a woman has to go through an ordeal. With the marriage of a woman, she has to give proof of her purity ie virginity.
On the day of honeymoon, the husband brings a white sheet to his wife and when he has a physical relationship, the traces of blood on that sheet are shown to the people of the society the next day.
Financial penalty on family
If there are traces of blood, then his wife is considered right, that is, his wife is a virgin and if there is no trace of blood on that sheet, then his wife has had a relationship with someone before. The girl is forced to do so. If the girl is not a virgin, then on behalf of Panch Patel of Jatiya Panchayat, more dowry is demanded by putting great pressure on the family members. Many times they are ostracized from the society and financial punishment is imposed on the family for inclusion in the society.

5 to 10 lakh rupees are demanded
Due to this cookery practice of Sansi society, many times poor families have to go through great social and economic crisis, if any girl is found guilty in the practice of cooking, the caste panchayat first imposes a financial fine on that girl’s family. In this, many times this amount goes up to Rs 5 to 10 lakhs. If the family does not pay the fine amount, then he is ostracized from the society.
SP Adarsh Sidhu also said in the case of Kukdi Pratha (Virginity Test) that it should be stopped. Some such incidents have come to the fore in the district. In such a situation, action will be taken against the culprits. This is a bad practice and it should be stopped. Panchayat hears in such cases, that too is wrong.
